ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

I have never been good for English, and although I like it, it has always been very difficult for me.
The truth, is that I do not spend much time learning english. There are always other priorities, for example in the high school, my priorities were the mathematical and scientific branches, then my priority was the PSU, and now in the university the subject chemical become priorities.

When I arrived at the university, I thought that I would finally learn English, but I have learned much less than I imagined. Although my English level is considerably higher compared to a few years ago.
I do not blame the professors or the university, because as I said, I have not spent much time on this, but I think sometimes the course becomes very monotonous and I think that  could be applied other teaching techniques.


Blogs have helped me a lot to improve my writing and my vocabulary in English, but I still cannot understand when they speak to me in English.I would have liked that in the English courses we had worked more the audition in English.

I plan to work hard to learn English, I would like to take a course later in an institute, where I can learn and improve my English. I would also like to travel abroad and take a course, I think I could learn much more.For now,  I will continue to do listen and translate the songs in English that I like and watch movies and series in English with subtitles.I will try to do it more often since I do not normally use it in my daily life.

I know that in a couple of years, English will be essential, since I will have to read many papers for university, and when I enter the world of work, English will be much more important.So I hope I can really learn it.

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Personally, I would make many changes to the curriculum,since I find it too stressful, exhausting and I think there are many courses that do not work.
The basic career plan has 3 mathematical courses, including statistic, and 2  physicists. I think it would be fine just 2 math courses, including something of statistic, and just a physical subject.This would reduce the hourly load of the first year and eliminate the material l that does not serve us as pharmaceutical chemists.
I would change the semester in which "Organic chemistry Laboratory 1" is given, and I would put it after "Organic chemistry 1", since when we worked in the laboratorywe did not understand what we were doing.
It would eliminate the third introductory course of the career "Research for the pharmaceutical sciences", since it is a horrible course that does not make any sense.
I would do physical-chemistry more didactic, since in the classes I get bored and I do not like the course, but I think that it is important for this career.
It would reduce the students for each course, since, sometimes, there are many students in a room and those who sit back can not see the blackboard.
Definitely I think that some professors is not trained to impart the course. There are teacher that only  read de ppt and that is verry boring. Personally I like more when they do classes on the blackboard, I think it is much more didactic, although for some courses the ppt is necessary.
Finally I think that we need a larger place to eat, more computers, a larger library and more green areas.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

These summer holidays I have to do my first pharmaceutical practice, I hope to do it in Talca in a pharmacy. This practice will last two week and I hope I can learn a lot.
I plan to go out with my university friends, maybe to Serena, Tabo, Cartagena or any other place. The idea is we have to fun and tan a little.
Also I plane to go out with my friends of Talca, normally we always camp for a few days, maybe we go to Vilches again or we go to the beach.

If I do not go out with them, I hope to spend a lot of time with my friends, since I usually only see them during the holidays and when I'm here in Santiago, I miss them a lot.

I do not plan to vacation with my parents because my father got a job recently, so he do not have a vacation this summer. I think that we could go to the beach for a weekend.
I like going to Linares in the holidays, I go to visit to my sister and my nephews, I always go for a few days. This summer I have to organize the baby shower for my nephew who is coming. I am very excited, I hope to do a good job and that everything goes well.
I would like to see many series and movies, I have many pending. Also I would like to do some sport this summer, maybe pole dance or any sport that keeps me active.
Finally this summer (like all the others :( ) I plan to work packing, because if I do not work there is no money to do everything I plan to do on vacation.

PETS

I love animals, but above all I love dogs. I have two dogs Paquito and Pelusa.
Paquito arrived at the house 16 years ago, when I was 4 years old. A friend of my dad gave it to him, it was a big surprise for everyone.
Pelusa arrived at the house 4 years ago. We picked her up from the street, since she was alone on a very dangerous road. At first my parents wanted to find another home, but finally she stayed in our home.

It's hard to choose just one thing I like about them,so I'll make a list.
Paquito is very old, is blind and hears very little, therefore it is the baby of the house. He sleeps all day and just wakes up to eat. He likes to give many kisses, also likes to be carried around. In general, I like everything about him.
On the other hand, Pelusa likes to be caressed, also likes to give lots of kisses, and she is very fearful. I love taking her out for a walk when I'm at home, we both enjoy it a lot. I think what I like the most is that it is very affectionate.
The truth is that today I live without them, since my dogs are in Talca and it's very sad, I miss them so much. I miss that they bark and kiss me when I get home, play with them or caress them. I miss his presence. But I know that when I get home they will always be waiting for me with kisses and barks and that makes me very happy.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

In the future I would like to do a postgraduate study abaout organic chemistry because so far is the area of chemistry that I like the most. Besides I think it is an area where many molecules and compounds can be studied that can improve or cure diseases.
I really like the area of research, I think there are a lot of things to discover and that can help the population to live better, but if one day I enter the research area, I will do my studies in skins or synthetic systems and not in mice , since I'm against the use of animals for research, especially when today there are other methods to work.

I would also like to do a postgraduate study about medicine, since I will need it if I choose the clinical area of pharmacy. It could be related to pediatrics, and then work with them in the hospital.
The clinical area is one of the most I like so far, although at some point I would like to dedicate myself to research.
I still have not thought well where I would like to do graduate studies, I would like to continue studying at the Universidad de Chile, but at some point I would also like to go abroad to perfect myself as a professional. If I decide to dedicate myself to research, I think it is best to study abroad, since Chile has fewer resources and less experience in that area.
Finally, I think the best are the face-to-face and experiential classes, although there are topics where you do not need to go to a class to learn them, just read.

MY FUTURE JOB

In these two years of university career I have known many areas in which a QF can work, but the areas that I liked the most so far is the clinical area and Investigation.

In the clinical area, I would work together with patients hospitalized and I worry about  their medication, so my workplace would be the hospital, or I woluld in a laboratoy doing investigations on new compounds and molecules.

But I have a lot plans to my future. I would like to do a Doctorate about Organic Chemistry because is the area of chemistry that I like the most and I could work investigating on that or do a postgrade relationated about Medicine, as that would help me to work in clinical pharmacy. Also I would like to do a mission in Africa or Haiti for a time and work helping people, do some study abroad and travel a lot for the world.

About my salary I have high expectations since I could do many things with that, as have a pet shelter (it is one of my dreams), travel with my family, finance some project or simply enjoy good economic stability.

Finally, I can say that I still have a long way to go and that my tastes for the areas can change a lot, the only thing certain is that I love my career.

NATIONAL HOLIDAYS (SEPTEMBER 18th)

I love it national holidays, because I love it cuecas, terremotos, and spend time with my family and my friends.
My national holidays started on September 15th in the "Quimifonda", where where I enjoyed with my friends of the party. I danced cueca and others, I drink terremoto and I laughed a lot.

The 16th I traveled 6 hours to Talca, so that day only I spended time with my family and my dogs in my house.
The next day in the morining I cooked with my mom empanadas, vegetarians for me and  normals for the rest, and in the night I went to my cousin's house and drinks terremotos with some friends.
The 18th arrived my sister with my nephews to my house, my parents made roast and we lunch together. In the afternoon we went to my grandmother's house because it was her birthday. There were my grandfather, my uncles, my cousins and their sons. We danced, we sang "happy birthday" and we drinked terremotos.
Finally the 19th I watched the military parade with my parents because my cousin paraded in the marching band of the police suboficiales school (where dogs also paraded). In the afternoon I went to the "Fondas" with my parents, we walk for a while and we bought some drinks and in the night we ate empanadas in my house.

The rest of the week, I rested, visited to my friends and ate more empanadas.In conclusion I drank a lot terremoto and I ate many soy empanadas ajaj :).

FAVOURITE BOOK OR MOVIE

Throughout my life I've seen many movies, so that I have many favorites. But today I will talk about "Interstellar".This film it is directed by Christopher Nolan and is about a future on earth where humanity is struggling to survive, so a group of astronauts travel through a wormhole in search of a new home for the humans.

The main character is Joseph Cooper, who has two sons,Tom and Murph, and is widower. Besides is a pilot of NASA,so it is the leader of the mission that search of a new planet to live, the crew of Cooper it's formed by Amelia, Doyle and Romilly. Other character important is Dr.Brand who work in NASA and recruits to Cooper for the mission.

I liked the movie by the plot, since I like futuristic films and more if they have to do with space. I really like the stars, planets, black holes, other dimension, among other themes about space.
Besides it has excellent special effects and a good soundtrack. The film got to capture my attention all the time and made me feel different emotions. I would really recommend this movie.

THE BEST CONCERT EVER

I will talk about "creamfields", my best concert. It was November 2016 in Club Hípico, Many DJs presented in different stages, but I saw only a few.
I could see Tiësto (who closed the show), Marshmello who always wears a characteristic "mask" that covers his face, KSHMR, Oliver Heldens and Don Diablo.The truth is that at that time I knew only 2 Djs of those who appeared that day (Tiësto and Marshmello), but in the concert I met many more Djs and I started to knew more  the world of electronic music,

The show was incredible and magical, we all let ourselves be carried away by music, we jumped, screamed, danced, we hugged and even some they kissed. I felt happy, carefree, free, I got carried away by the music and enjoyed it with the friends who accompanied me. The only thing that could criticize the concert is the land that was in the environment, as it jumped up and the feeling was horrible (although I did not stop enjoying the moment).

The things that I remember most are the presentation of KSHMR, since I did not know it and I was very surprised by its presentation, and the closing of the show with Tiësto that was something totally magical, the show was with many lights, we saw the sunset and the videos us Transported to another place. Really  I would  like to go again.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

I would like to visit many countries, but in this moment the first on the list is Switzerland. I love their culture, education, that is a European country, which allows me to know many others countries,but above all I love their landscapes.

The truth is that I don't know much about this country, only what I've seen on television and movies, I know they make lots of chocolate, that have a great variety of landscapes and reliefs and that is has border with France, Germany and Italy (other countries that I that I would like to know)

If one day I travel I would like to visit whole the country, to know the Swiss alps, the lakes, their story and culture. Also I would like to study there, do some kind of postgraduate, or also work. I think that my work would be better paid and I would work fewer hours than here, so I would have time to enjoy the country and their people.

Your blogging experience

Well, today is my last blog and the truth is that this experience I liked a lot. I think it is a very entertaining way to learn English, besides being able to express what you think about various subjects. Also, this experience has helped me a lot to know about the lives of my other classmates and to know their ideologies and thoughts.

I feel that my writing has developed much more, compared to the beginning of the course, where it was difficult for me to translate my thoughts in Spanish into English. I hope I can continue to overcome, since I really want to learn this.

In the future, I would like to be able to share with people from other sections, comment on their blogs and know their experiences, I think it is much more entertaining and helps us to get to know better our university colleagues. I would also like to have a day off so that you can write what you want, or what you feel at the time, I think it would be very entertaining.

Finally, I would like to write a blog about my pets, the places we visited, the places we would like to visit, I do not know, there are many interesting topics!

From the invisible to the visible world and back...

Hi, today I'll tell you about the nanoliposomes.
It is a small hollow vesicle (50-200nm) whose double membrane is composed of a double layer of phospholipids and in an aqueous solution form a spherical structure. They have an identical composition to the cells of the organism (phospholipids).

They are used in the pharmaceutical industry to encapsulate and transport active ingredients without oxidizing or degrading them at the time of their liberation, such as fish oil or vitamin C. It is also used to incorporate active ingredients into foods, creams or cosmetics.
I'ts importance is that they are made of phospholipids, so it gives them the advantage of not being rejected by the organism. and serve to transport active substances that are very unstable and easy to oxidize in the human body.

These nanoparticles are a breakthrough for pharmaceutical science, since we can encapsulate a large number of substances in them and give different uses.At the moment it is being studied the future use of these molecules to transport active substance to anticancer cells and to eliminate them, in addition to the encapsulation of the fish oil and the incorporation of these in the foods.This would be a breakthrough for health, since it could find a possible cure for cancer, or on the other hand, incorporate efficiently the oil of fish to our organism would help us to prevent a lot of diseases.

Well, to say goodbye, I want to tell you that I decided to talk about this topic, because I had to expose about the encapsulation of fish oil in nanoliposomes last week, besides,  others classmates had to expose about the advances of encapsulation of anticancer in these particles and  its effectiveness.This seemed very interesting, since I discovered that the nanoliposomes can be used for various active principles, and may have different purpose of use, in addition they are super effective to transport any substance, reason why gives me many hope that in the future they can use for great purposes and cure many diseases!

The most enjoyable subject ...

Hello, today I will tell you about my favorite subject Organic Chemistry. 
I like it because I find it very interesting, and although it is a bit difficult and I do not have the qualifications I would like :(, I like to study it.I also find that it is a fundamental subject for our career.I have a laboratory of matter and another where everything is theoretical. In general I like the theorist more, since most of the time I do not understand what I do in the laboratory.The classes are divided into two parts, a seminar where exercises are done of the subject and a theoretical class.

In the classes I only pay attention and try to write down everything that the teacher  says, although often the theoretical classes are considered as already learned content,so that they professors omit content (and I don,t like it ) ,and in the seminars, we exercise what we have learned and we have evaluations.
The material I find interesting because it teaches us why and how the reactions occur in organic chemistry and makes me feel like a real scientist, although I'm missing a lot to be ajaj.
The teacher that I liked the most is Patricio Navarrete, he explains very well and in detail, I like that he does not use Power Point and only occupy the board, he is a great teacher.
